From the moment you drive down the beautiful oak tree lined driveway and meander down past the harbour views at Riverside Retreat, you feel you’re in a magical tranquil space. Within rolling park-like grounds and sounds of the river in the distance, the bird song is abundant and the forest trees help you feel calm and ready to unwind, immersing your soul in nature.

 

Riverside Retreat Thompson’s Track has so much magic to offer in way of connection and wellness. We hire our two chalets and lodge for special occasion bookings (AirBNB), and our grounds, commercial kitchen, and outdoor marque as spaces for health and wellness retreats, weddings, and creative workshops.
As event and wedding decorators, we can also provide personalized event styling and have everything you need on-site!

Riverside Retreat features a warm inviting wooden lodge with a library and fireplace, commercial kitchen in the centre, and two lounging spaces for you to really relax, make yourself a coffee, and enjoy the serenity. This space is available for Events, and for the enjoyment of AirBNB guests.

Chalets

We have two separate wooden chalets, Tranquility and Serenity, nestled amongst nature by the river. Our chalets are almost identical, each with their own queen bed, fireplace, outdoor French bath, private bathroom, and barbecue for you to leisurely cook your own breakfast in the morning (breakfast provided). Marquee

Our large clear marquee is perfect for hosting wedding receptions, luxury events, and workshops. It is powered with festoon lights, and accommodates up to 100 seated guests. For more information, please click here.

Our Services

At Riverside Retreat Thompsons Track, we offer Queen room stays in our Chalets with use of the lodge. We also offer venue hire of the lodge, grounds and marquee, and personalised event styling services.

Riverside Retreat Thompson's Track is nestled in a valley in the Kaimai Ranges, in Aongatete. We are just 30 minutes drive from Tauranga CBD, and 10 minutes from Katikati township. Once you reach Thompson’s Track from SH2, travel 2kms up the road and you’ll see the wooden sign directing you to our space.
